Expanding Film is a grouping of filmmakers and artists working with the moving image based in York. We welcome work which is personal, radical, DIY, expanded, performance-based, mixed media, unfinished and, above all, experimental. We don't just show work by artists from York - submissions can come from anywhere.

The first screening will be held at Pica Studios in York, UK on the 5th of October. To submit, email a working YouTube or Vimeo link to expandingfilm@gmail.com. If your work is accepted, we will be in touch to request a high-quality native file.

Due to the volume of submissions we receive, we may have to carry work over to subsequent screenings. Unfortunately we can only respond to accepted submissions. You will know before the 5th if your work will be shown.
